Important Notice.


Unclaimed Balances -  Sonali Bank (UK)  Limited  (SBUK)  Retail  Accounts 

 

We would like to remind  our customers that following  the  closure  of  SBUK's  Retail Accounts  in  December 2017,  all 'Unclaimed Balances'  have now been transferred to a Trust  Account where they will be held on your behalf by an independent Trustees appointed for that purpose.

 

If you have held an account with the Bank that has not been closed and you wish to claim payment of amounts owed to you, the appropriate course will be to make a request for payment in writing to the trustees using the contact details below rather than the Bank. 

When you contact the trustees in this way, you will be required to prove your identity in the same way as if you were withdrawing the funds from the Bank.

Remittance service

 

Customers are kindly reminded that from 11th December 2017 Sonali Bank (UK) Ltd will no longer accept cash in payment for customer remittances.

 

Sonali Bank (UK) Ltd will continue to accept payment either by Debit card or a Credit card (not American Express) issued by a UK bank and which bears the name of the customer making the remittance.

We apologise to those customers that may be inconvenienced by this.

Retail Banking Services

We wish to inform you that following a substantive review of our retail banking services, the Bank has taken the decision to cease retail deposit banking services. This decision has not been taken lightly and whilst we understand that there may be some disruption to you as a customer, we would like to clarify what services will be impacted and how we can help and support you going forward.

What services are being withdrawn?



  • Cheque books

  • Deposit of cheques

  • Receipt of Direct Credits

  • Receiving credits via CHAPS or Faster Payment

  • Cash Deposits

    Access to these services will be withdrawn from 11th December 2017.



    Remittance & Foreign Exchange Business as usual

    Please note that we will continue to provide our Remittance & Foreign Exchange Services as usual to all our valued customers.  You will no longer be able to fund remittances through your Sonali Bank (UK) Limited account; however we will continue to accept debit and credit cards except American Express.

    Free Remittance Offer

    To fulfil our customer's demand we are offering a commission free Remittance.

    To qualify for the free Remittance customers must meet the following criteria:

  • Send two Remittances and get the 3rd Remittance commission free;

  • Each Remittance must be for more than 100.00;

  • The third Remittance must be made within three months from the date of the second Remittance;

  • The maximum amount of the free remittance will is 500.00;

  • All Remittances under the offer are available over the Bank counter only (Telephone Remittance are excluded from the the offer);

  • Subsequent free Remittances will be based on the above criteria being met;

     

    Terms & conditions of Free Remittance:-

    (1) When claiming your commission free Remittance you must produce your original Remittance receipts for the previous two Remittances.

    (2) Claim must be lodged within three months from the date of second Remittance sent.  No claim is acceptable after three months of second Remittance.

    (3) SB UK Account holders are also eligible for this Free Remittance facility.

    (4) This offer is available until further notice although it can be withdrawn at anytime and without notice.

    We wish to advise all customers that the London Main Branch will no longer operate Saturday opening hours from the 30th July 2016.
